Radiant Effect

Welcome

Welcome to Radiant Effect!

Are you ready to shine light into the spaces you've been hiding?

What happens when you reveal the roots of your health? We call it the Radiant Effect! And we invite you to experience it for yourself.

We're Rachel and Meg, and together we are on a mission to educate and empower you to take full control of your health goals. It's our promise to always look to the root cause. Our three steps of education, embodiment and reflection blend ancient wisdom with modern knowledge to guide your path to transformation.

How Do We Do That?

At Radiant Effect we see five pillars that must be addressed in order to help our bodies maintain good health. Today, we want to share them with you!

TUNE IN:

This is two-fold. On one hand, this is about paying attention and listening to the cues that your body is constantly giving you about what it needs and when it needs it. For example: Are you hungry? Are you thirsty? What does that pain want you to know? What feelings or parts of yourself are you avoiding? On the other hand, this is about how you interact with the world around you too. For example: Are you saying yes to people when you want to say no? Are you connected to nature and getting outside? Are you spending time doing things that bring you contentment?

NOURISH:

Food is medicine. What you put in your body matters for your overall health. It's not just about how your gut feels (though that's a major part of it), but how your brain functions, how your blood circulates, and how your bones stay strong. When you have access to healthy foods and support to choose healthy foods, you can heal from the inside out.

MOVE:

Your body is made to move and the list of reasons why you need to move is extensive. However, modern society doesn't do a good job of supporting movement. On top of that, you may be inundated with images of people who look "healthy" moving their bodies in ways that aren't accessible. We want you to know that movement can belong to you. You can move in ways that support you. When you learn movement that feels good to your body you can incorporate it into the way you live your life.

REST:

You are not meant to work constantly. You need rest. And even more so, you need sleep! Your body heals when it's sleeping. So many people are not getting adequate length or depth of sleep. With simple tools you can transform your sleep patterns to impact every aspect of your well-being.

CONNECT:

Arguably the most important aspect of your health is connection with others. Why do we say this? Because all the self-care tools in the world won't change the systemic problem of why so many people are feeling unwell. Working together in community can help to change the root cause of so much dis-ease. You need people who are also normalizing tuning-in, nourishing their bodies, moving their bodies, prioritizing rest to help bolster courage to do these things for yourself. You can't go it alone. It's not sustainable. In fact, it's downright exhausting.

Our Story

About Us

We’ve spent years working in the healthcare field but have often found that there are missing pieces in helping people to heal fully.

We created the Radiant Effect because we wanted to offer a broader scope of support than one person alone can provide. We know that we are better together.

The Radiant Effect allows us to show up fully in our zones of genius and create an elevated experience that is greater than the sum of its parts.

We are not just another healthcare provider. We link arms with you to empower your choices to heal and live as your most radiant self. We use science, movement, community and practical tools so that you can experience the radiant effect.

We welcome you with open arms to experience the Radiant Effect for yourself!

Meg Aris

Meg is an embodied movement educator and health coach.  Diagnosed with an autoimmune disease as a child, Meg learned through her own journey that the quest we are on is about seeking excellence which requires inquiry, failure, vulnerability and resilience. She has been using this to guide her teaching since 2005 with a focus on mindful movement, somatic therapy and nervous system health.

Meg has completed two comprehensive pilates trainings (The Pilates Center, The PhysicalMind Institute), several levels of yoga teacher trainings and trauma informed somatic studies. She has been faculty for many different pilates and yoga trainings around Vancouver Island and the lower mainland, as well as throughout Canada.  She also holds a bachelor degree in writing and anthropology.  In 2010, she joined the team at Fix Healthcare Victoria and continues to lead the pilates program there.  She lives in Victoria, BC and can be found spending time out in the forest, walking her dogs, or digging in the garden along side her chickens and bees.

Rachel Mark

Rachel is a Registered Acupuncturist and Integrative Health Coach living in Victoria, BC. Rachel has a keen interest in the human body, how it works and the incredible interconnectedness in its ability to heal. Across multiple school programs and almost 20 years of education, the missing pieces of the healing language remained. She has dedicated her career to weaving those missing pieces together and spends her days working with people of all ages and backgrounds to optimize health and integrate a whole-person approach to healing.

She holds degrees in Kinesiology as well as Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine and is certified as a yoga teacher, clinical exercise physiologist and kinesiologist. She truly believes these powerful forms of medicine can ignite our own healing response and bring us into a brighter, clearer and more radiant state of being.

When not in clinic, she can be found walking along the beach with her golden retriever, enjoying an amazing cup of coffee, or cozying up with a good book!
